It was a day of confusion as BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the National Capital reiterated his party’s stand in politics.

Naveen said that his party (BJD) continues to maintain equal
distance from both the Congress and the BJP.

Naveen’s claim came a day after his party Spokesperson Amar Satpathy
admitting in Media that the BJD formed the Zilla Parishad in Sundergarh district with the support of a Congress Zilla Parishad Member.

Mr.Satpathy, however, clarified that the local leaders arranged
the support. Therefore, the BJD leadership had no role in the entire exercise.

However, Congress MLA Jogesh Singh said that they had a meeting with
the BJD leaders in the State Capital on the issue of support to BJD in Zilla Parishad formation in order to keep the BJP away from the power.

Congress’s Talsara MLA Prafulla Majhi in a letter to the Leader of
Opposition Narasingha Mishra has clearly stated that there was an alliance between the INC and the BJD in Sundargarh Zilla Parishad President election held on Sunday.

Dr.Majhi requested Mr.Mishra to convey
his protest to such alliance to AICC.

When the entire state has been talking about the alleged horse trading
and Congress members support to BJD in Sundargarh, Naveen ‘s claim of maintaining equal distance created confusion among the people.

The things could have been in two ways. One: the state BJD leaders have kept Naveen in dark about the BJD-INC alliance in Sundargarh or two: the BJD President  has been hiding facts on the alliance.

It may be recalled that Naveen was furious and he contradicted a
statement given by BJD MP Bhartuhari Mahatab on the possible alliance with the Congress.

Naveen, who generally does not react to issues, came out to the media
and rejected Mr.Mahtab’s statement and also went on speaking that there was no possibility of any kind of alliance with Congress.

The Chief Minister also blamed the Congress for backwardness and poverty of Odisha.

The opposition BJP has taken the opportunity and demanded a CBI probe
into the alleged horse trading  in the Sundargarh matter.

The saffron party also now got an evidence to prove that its claim of
a secret alliance between the BJD and Congress is now proved.
