PCC Chief Prasad Harichandan is facing an embarrassing time with AICC General Secretary and In Charge Odisha, B K Hariprasad resigning from his both the post in the wake of the rout of the Congress in the recently concluded Rural Polls.
Mr.Hariprasad had quit owning up moral responsibility for the party’s debacle.
Several Congress leaders, who had been waging a Prasad Ouster campaign claiming his weak leadership stated that it is high time that Mr.Harichandan should be removed from the post at the earliest.
Leading the lot former MP, Ananta Prasad Sethi welcomed Mr.Hariprasad’s resignation and demanded ouster of Mr.Harichandan.
“It is late, but Mr.Hariprasad ultimately admitted to his mistake. PCC President Prasad Harichandan should also quit his post like his leader” Mr.Sethi said.
Mr.Sethi sarcastically asked Media Men till date he has not resigned? “If I would have been PCC Chief, I would have already put in my papers”.
Congress Chief Whip and a formidable detractor of PCC Chief, Tara Prasad Bahinipati also thanked the AICC General Secretary for his resignation due to party debacle.
“He should have resigned before the panchayat election or should have been removed just after the Assembly elections,” Mr.Bahinipati said adding, “Prasad Babu also should quit the post on moral ground.”
However, Leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra was not very obvious said, “Change of Guard completely depends on party. Congres performance is very disheartening in the panchayat polls.”
Notably, both Mr.Hariprasad and Mr.Harichandan have been facing revolt within the party for the last few months due to their non performance and weak leadership to keep the Congress party afloat.
