Startup Pact With Invest India


Odisha Government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invest India, the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry.


L N Gupta, Principal Secretary MSME and Invest India CEO Deepak Bagla signed the MoU in presence of the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Minister MSME Jogendra Behera.

Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik who launched the Startup Odisha helpline on the occasion said the MoU will bring a global perspective for the State and provide access to best practices in the field of Startups and MSME sector.
 
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan and several senior officers were present.

Launching the Helpline at the State Secretariat, Chief Minister said it will provide a platform to the youth, incubators and all other stakeholders in the startup eco—system to get easy redressal of their queries relating to policy, fund raising, company incorporation, idea validation.
 
“I am sure that partnership between Startup Odisha Initiative and Startup India Hub run by the Invest India will help us in achieving the Mission-1000 Startups by the year 2020 and help our youth in realizing their dreams,” Mr.Patnaik said.

The MoU will facilitate knowledge exchange, access to funding and networking between Odisha Startups and the global Startup ecosystem, he added.

As per the agreement, Invest India will also extend knowledge support for development of MSME Sector in the state with focus on Food Processing, Agro-processing and the spices sector, said Mr.Gupta.
 
Mr.Gupta said the state has already listed 225 startups and 24 incubators since Chief Minister Patnaik unveiled the Odisha Startup Policy.
 
Mr.Bagla said that “Startup India is objective of making India a country of job creators. The vision is to make India the number 1 Startup nation in the world".
 
He congratulated the State Government for the important initiative which will provide critical foundation for the development of the entire Startup ecosystem.

He said “We look forward to working closely and to make the Chief Minister's vision of 1000 startups a reality in the immediate future.
